  • May 4, 2016 - People fight with kites at the Hamamatsu Festival in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Teams build their own kites, measuring up to 3.5 by 3.5 meters, and then attempt to bring down the other teams' kites by flying them close together and using friction to burn the hemp kite strings. The festival, which celebrates new births, takes place May 3-5 and coincides with Children's Day. (Photo by Ben Weller/AFLO) (JAPAN) [UHU] Ben Weller is a photographer based in Nagoya, Japan.

  • JANUARY 11, 2016 - Friends greet each other at a Coming of Age Day ceremony at Nagoya Civic Assembly Hall in Nagoya, Japan. The national holiday celebrates young adults reaching the age of majority. 1,210,000 people turned 20 this year, according to the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication. The number of 20-year-olds has been in consistent decline over the past several years, reflecting Japan's falling birth rates.
